How to use Fish Wild

Fish Wild is now updated continuously rather than on the more restrictive monthly magazine model.  Have a look around the Front Page, it’s pretty much self explanatory.

  • The top menu bar provides links  to various special functions and one-click navigation back to the front page
  • Main articles, features, poll results etc  are accessed by the roll-out menus on the left
  • All articles are dated for easy reference
  • Some new articles also appear on the front page in the area below, as well as in the main lists accessed by the menus;  these change from time to time
  • You cannot log in to Fish Wild – no need – all the content is public

Welcome back to the new look Fish Wild!

Fish Wild returns!  After a  break we are back with a new format and a completely new look and feel. There will be some changes  and some things will stay the same.

  • Fish Wild will be updated on a continuous basis and not at fixed intervals as before
  • Fish Wild will make more use of new web technologies and offer lots of new features
  • The Fish Wild philosophy remains the same;  we publish articles written by anglers for angler

We will be running reader polls from time to time. These are open for anyone to vote in. The purpose of the polls is to gauge opinion  on various fishing related or conservation matters.

The polls are completely anonymous, so voters cannot be identified.

Each poll will run for a few weeks and the results will be permanently available.

They will only be useful if reasonable numbers participate, so please vote if you will.

Suggestions for future  polls are most welcome. If you have any ideas please get in touch using the Contact button on the right of the top menu .

Our current  poll  “Are websites that openly publish detailed fishing reports behaving responsibly?” is an attempt to gauge opinion on  the different approaches  taken by various websites and web forums on publishing information on waters, in particular waters that may hold  sensitive populations of large fish.

Fish Wild! Information

What is Fish Wild?

F

ish Wild! is an online magazine mainly about wild fly fishing. At Fish Wild we try to provide an antidote to the predictable, be that commercial fisheries or formulaic mainstream angling publications.

We also try to provide a platform for all kinds of writers; already established or new; those looking for a place to say what they want to say without worrying about  the commercial considerations that determine what is printed in glossy fishing magazines.

Publishing  in Fish Wild is a great way to help you become established as an angling writer.

Fish Wild is about real people and real fishing.

Want to contribute?

Our aim is to publish work by new as well as established writers. Remember even the well known, established names  were new at one time!

Get your name out there.

Contributions do not have to be huge;  articles of all sizes are welcome.

If you would like to be a Fish Wild writer please get in touch  using the Contact button on the top menu bar.

We look forward to hearing from you, all contributions welcome.
