flaxmain Fishing or  just travelling down New Zealand’s South Island  West Coast?

Check out  Flaxbush Motels at Harihari. Owners Traci and Duane offer friendly, no hassle,  laid   back, great value accommodation.

Flaxbush Motels,  in stunningly beautiful  Harihari,  is one hour north of  the Franz Josef and  Fox Glaciers and  has a tea room / groceries shop, craft shop with internet access and  a motor inn that serves great food adjacent.

Harihari gives access to some top quality trout fishing, including the world famous La Fontaine stream where fly fishers can test their skills against big trout that are no one’s fools! This is as close to fly fishing paradise as any trout fisher could ever hope to be.

Stay & check out the  coastal walkway,  scenic heliflights and general  unspoiled mountain scenery. Early morning and late evening views of the Southern Alps from around the La Fontaine stream are quite simply stunning.

Some of us just can’t stay away!

Flaxbush Motels offer 9 units, 1 & 2-brm. Full facilities including backpacker cabins.

Tariff (2010): $90-$120 (2 persons), extra person $15. Backpackers $60-$75 (2 persons).
