April 24th 2010 WFF River Don Success
Saturday April 24th 2010 saw members of the Wild Fishing Scotland Forum (The Wild Fishing Forum) enjoy another very successful outing to the Aberdeenshire Don.
One salmon and several trout up to 4lbs were caught in spite of high cold water and difficult weather conditions.
The following was released under WFF etiquette and conservation guidelines:
“Nine of our members enjoyed a difficult but successful day on the river with several good trout in excellent condition, between 2 ½ and 4 pounds caught and released as well as one fresh run salmon.”
“We never release detailed information on our fishing trips”. “The world wide web is a big place and several rivers, for example the Clyde, are already experiencing greatly increased pressure due to, what is in our opinion, irresponsible detailed reporting on some internet fishing forums”.
"Even here in the North East of Scotland some appear driven to increase fishing pressure on rivers like the Don and WFF members want no part in it”. “It’s better anglers make the effort to discover wild waters for themselves, that way they are more likely to appreciate and look after them”.
